Bears fall at home to Vikings

UNC men's basketball fell to Portland State 106-99
GREELEY, Colo. – Northern Colorado men's basketball scored 99 points on Thursday night, but it wasn't enough as the Bears fell to Portland State 106-99.
Five Bears finished the game in double figures scoring led once again by Big Sky scoring leader Daylen Kountz. The senior had 27 points after scoring 30 against PSU on Monday. Bodie Hume also had a 20-point game with exactly 20 and grabbed 11 rebounds for his second double-double of the season.
Offense was not an issue for either team as the Bears shot 55.7% to Portland State's 52.4%.
A back and forth affair early on, Northern Colorado took the lead with a 7-2 run to go up six, eight minutes into the game. The lead grew to as many as nine points with seven minutes remaining in the first half.
Portland State closed the half on an 8-0 run to lead 43-42.
UNC once again grew its lead to as much as nine in the second half and once again Portland State battled its way back.
Tied at 90 entering the final media timeout, PSU outscored UNC 16-9 in the final 3:58 to leave Greeley with the victory.
