LIHUE, KAUA'I, Hawaii – Northern Colorado wrapped up its first tournament of the spring season at the John Burns Intercollegiate on Saturday, carding a final round 318 and finishing in 18th place.
Senior Jack Castiglia led the way for the Blue and Gold. The Lakewood, Colorado native found three birdies on the front nine, including two in a row on the first and second holes (his fourth and fifth of the day). Castiglia wrapped up with a team-low 77 and finished T-80 individually.
Blake Danni equaled Castiglia's T80 individual placing. A final round that also included back-to-back birds left Danni with an 80 and +11 for the tournament.
Westin Pals conjured the most birdies of any Bear on Saturday. The sophomore found five at the Ocean Course at Hokuala. Even when his round got derailed on the 14th hole, Pals responded with back-to-back birdies.
TJ Shehee (+8, +21 overall) and Dino Degotardi (+9, +15 overall) also finished up their tournaments, finishing 99th and 93rd, respectively.
What's Ahead
Northern Colorado returns to the mainland for a trip to the Palm Desert for the Wyoming Desert Classic March 2-4.
