Nominations now being accepted for UNC Athletic Hall of Fame

Nominations for the University Northern Colorado Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2022 are now being accepted. The nomination period runs until March 14, 2022. The 2022 Hall of Fame class will be the 24th group enshrined into the UNC Hall of Fame that began in 1994, including 156 individuals and 30 teams. To nominate someone for the UNC Athletics Hall of Fame please click here to fill out the nomination form.
Below is the criteria to be eligible for the Northern Colorado Athletics Hall of Fame for each designated category.
Upon the nomination period ending, the Hall of Fame committee will review and vote on the newest members.
The induction ceremony date will be announced with the release of the class.

Hall of Fame nominations are being accepted in any of the following categories:
1. CRITERIA FOR ATHLETICS HALL OF FAME MEMBERSHIP – ATHLETES
A. An athlete becomes eligible for nomination to t–e Hall of Fame five (5) years after his/her last date of competition at the University of Northern Colorado.
B. An athlete must have earned two (2) letters in one (1) sport, one (1) letter in two (2) sports, or brought recognition to the University of Northern Colorado by his/her athletic accomplishments.
C. An outstanding career as an athlete must be followed by an exemplary career in the individual's profession or occupation, which reflects credit to the person and the University of Northern Colorado.
D. A candidate must receive an 80 percent affirmative vote of the members of the Board.
2. CRITERIA FOR ATHLETICS HALL OF FAME MEMBERSHIP – FACULTY OR STAFF
A. A member of the faculty or staff becomes eligible for nomination to the Hall of Fame five (5) years after leaving the University of Northern Colorado.
B. A member of the staff or faculty must have served the University of Northern Colorado for a minimum of five (5) years.
C. There must be evidence of an outstanding career as a faculty or staff member and the candidate must have had a direct and significant impact on athletics.
D. A candidate must receive an 80 percent affirmative vote of the members of the Board.
3. CRITERIA FOR ATHLETICS HALL OF FAME MEMBERSHIP – OTHER THAN ATHLETE, FACULTY/STAFF
A. An extraordinary contribution by someone other than faculty, staff or student-athlete on behalf of the University of Northern Colorado.
B. A candidate must receive an 80 percent affirmative vote of the members of the Board.
4. CRITERIA FOR ATHLETICS HALL OF FAME MEMBERSHIP – TEAMS
A. A team becomes eligible for nomination to the Hall of Fame ten (10) years after competition.
B. Teams must have brought national recognition to the University of Northern Colorado.
C. A team must receive an 80 percent affirmative vote of the members of the Board.
