Bears Honored On Big Sky All-Academic Team

FARMINGTON, Utah – Northern Colorado had 51 student-athletes named to the 2026 Spring All-Academic Team the Big Sky announced on Wednesday.
"Congratulations to the nearly 700 student-athletes that make up our Spring All-Academic Team," Big Sky Commissioner Tom Wistrcill said. "In the year 2026 there are so many distractions to navigate, and this group has done that to an exceptional level, along with setting a very strong standard for their peers."Â
To be eligible, a student-athlete must have met and/or exceeded the following minimum requirements: 1) Participated in at least half of the team's competitions; 2) Achieved a 3.2 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at the conclusion of the most recently completed term; 3) Completed at least one academic term at his/her current Big Sky institution.Â
Northern Colorado's 51 student-athletes were split with 16 from women's track and field, 13 men's track and field, 10 softball, and six each for men's and women's golf.
The Spring 2026 academic success underscores continued progress across Northern Colorado Athletics, reinforcing the department's emphasis on academic support, student development, and competitive excellence.
