Men's Hoops Ready for Saturday Showdown with Eastern Washington

UNC and Eastern Washington faceoff at 3 pm Saturday
GREELEY, Colo. – Fresh off a 17-point win on Thursday, Northern Colorado men's basketball takes on Eastern Washington Saturday afternoon in Cheney at 3 pm MT.
Opening Tip
- Northern Colorado returned to the court for the first time in 11 days and showed no rust defeating Idaho 87-70 Thursday night.
- The Bears improved to 4-1 in Big Sky play, two wins back of Weber State for the conference lead.
- Bodie Hume had his third 20-plus point game of the season to lead the Bears with 25 points in the win. He also led the team with eight rebounds.
- Hume enters Saturday's game 19 points shy of cracking the program's top 10 for all-time scoring.
- Matt Johnson II dished out a career-high-tying eight assists. He added in eight points.
- Big Sky leading scorer Daylen Kountz put up 16 points in the win. He's now averaging 18.9 ppg.

EWU had a complete overhaul of their roster in the offseason, but the results are still the same at 10-7 overall and 4-2 in the Big Sky.
Big Sky Freshman of the Year frontrunner Steele Venters leads the Eagles with 17.4 points per game. A sharpshooter, he is averaging 2.81 threes per game shooting 46.9%.

The teams at or near the top of the Big Sky standings picked up wins on Thursday with Weber State and Eastern Washington defending their home courts while Montana and Montana State picked up a road win.
