Castiglia Earns Fourth Straight Top 15 Finish

Jack Castiglia led UNC men's golf at the Mark SImpson Colorado Invitational
ERIE, Colo. – Jack Castiglia recorded his fourth straight top 15 finish as the Northern Colorado Men's Golf team competed at the Mark Simpson Colorado Invitational on Monday and Tuesday. Castiglia ended tied for seventh shooting a 10-under, 206 at the Colorado National Golf Club.
Castiglia and the Bears finished 13th with a 1-over, 865 as a team.
On day one of the tournament Castiglia posted back-to-back 5-under, 67s. He started fast with two straight birdies and finished strong with three birdies over the final five holes while playing consistently in the first round. In the second round, he posted seven birdies to bring his day one total to 13.
He was his consistent self in the final round with three more birdies to shoot an even-par 72. Castiglia finished tied for eighth with 16 birdies for the tournament.
Marcus Tait and Blake Danni each went under-par for a round, while TJ Shehee bookended his tournament with even-par 72s. Both Tait and Danni shot a 1-under, 71. Shehee had the second-best finish for the Bears with a 3-over, 219.

Northern Colorado returns to the links next Monday and Tuesday at the DU Paintbrush Invitational. UNC, the host Pioneers and others will play at the Colorado Golf Club in Parker, Colorado.
