Bears stay hot against Texans to win second straight
4/30/2021 5:52:00 PM | Baseball
Shaydon Kubo cannot stop collecting hits. Coming off a triple and a grand slam a week ago, Kubo grabbed three bags again to kick off the bottom of the first. Two batters later, Sam Leach brought Kubo home to give the Bears the early lead.
The Bears tacked on a second in the next inning when Hayden Heinze tomahawked a single into centerfield to score Ben McKay.B1 | Another triple of the season for Kubo!!#BearsStrong #WACbsb pic.twitter.com/aywUqX873U

Though Tarleton squeaked across two runs in the top of the third, starter Dylan Bowers had plenty of run support on the way.
A single from Sam Leach and walks from Josh Glenn and McKay set up Matt Burkart with a perfect opportunity to blow the game open.
On the second pitch he saw, Burkart roped a grand slam over the left-field fence.B3 | 🚨 GRAND SLAM ALERT 🚨

It would be the sign of things to come.
Two runs and four hits later, Josh Glenn was presented a chance to collect his second grand slam of the season and the second in the inning for the Bears. And that's just what he did.
First-pitch swinging, Glenn launched a towering home run to left field, handing the Bears a commanding lead.B3 | 🚨 ANOTHER GRAND SLAM!! 🚨🤯

The Texans responded quickly, though, pushing across five runs on five hits in the fourth inning.
However, Northern Colorado kept on swinging.
UNC mustered up three more runs on five hits in the fourth, including a triple from Aiden Leahy.
Tarleton grabbed two more runs in the sixth as Paul Falco relieved Dylan Bowers to hold off the Texans from cutting any further into the lead.
While the Texans garnered a small amount of success early against the Northern Colorado bullpen, the combination of Falco, Dylan Day and Billy Moreland settled down and held Tarleton at arm's length to pick up UNC's second straight win, 15-9.
