Baseball drops final game to Kansas State

K-State struck first in the bottom half of the opening frame. Starting pitcher Dylan Day buckled down to force two quick outs, ending the threat and getting his offense back to the plate.
In the second, back-to-back hits from Josh Glenn and Matt Burkart let Ben McKay earn a groundout RBI to tie the game at one.
Northern Colorado threatened to jump on top with the bases loaded. It wasn't to be, though, as a groundout ended the half-inning.
Immediately, the Wildcats had intentions of breaking the game open. Four runs in the bottom end of the second and another four in the fourth did just that.
Tacking on a 10th run in the fifth and all of the sudden, the home side possessed a nine-run advantage.
Lincoln Turner, Shaydon Kubo and Blake Tweedt loaded the bases with one out in the sixth but UNC was unable to manufacture a run to spark a rally.
After leaving 11 previous runners on base, the Bears finally broke its drought in the top of the eighth.
A dropped third strike and walk set up a two-RBI fielder's choice for Garrett Fisher.
Despite Sam Colehower, Billy Moreland and Sam Wyatt blanking the Wildcats in the sixth, seventh and eighth innings, Kansas State held on to snag the midweek sweep, 10-3.
