Women's Golf earns top five finish at Bobcat Desert Classic

Marisa Hisaki and Abby Fleiner finished in the top 15
GOODYEAR, Ariz. – Northern Colorado women's golf heads into next week's Big Sky Championship with some positive momentum after finishing fifth in the 36-hole Bobcat Desert Classic. The top five finish included a pair of Bears in the top 15 individually.
Abbi Fleiner and Marisa Hisaki finished tied for sixth and tied for 15th, respectively. Fleiner shot an even par 144 over the two rounds going 1-over, 73 in the opening day and following it up with a 1-under 71. She had seven birdies over the two days including four during her round of 71.
Hisaki had a strong day one shooting a 1-under 71. She followed it up with a 4-over 76 to finish at 3-over 147. Her score earned her a tied for 15th place on the individual leaderboard. The opening round 71 was her first round under-par this season.
As a team, UNC shot a 19-over, 595 for fifth place. The Bears best round came on the second day when they improved by three strokes with an 8-over, 296.

Northern Colorado and the rest of the Big Sky head to Arrowhead Golf Club in Molalla, Oregon for the 54-hole Big Sky Championship April 19-20.
