Wrestling's Moore to Represent the Red, White and Blue

Nathan Moore to compete at the U23 World Wrestling Championships
GREELEY, Colo. – Before putting on the Blue & Gold on Sunday, UNC Wrestling sophomore Nathan Moore will be representing the Red, White and Blue at the U23 World Wrestling Championships in Belgrade, Serbia, November 2 and 3.
"We are excited for Nate to have the opportunity to compete in the highest level of competition against the best in the world," Head Wrestling Coach Troy Nickerson said. "This is also a big experience for our program as we continue to look to put more student-athletes on world and Olympic teams in the future."
Moore will be competing in the 72kg division on November 2 and 3. The Championships is Greco-Roman style wrestling. He went 2-3 last year competing at 149 lbs and was a first team Academic All-Big 12 member in 2020-21. He also earned the program's Academic Excellence Award.
These are the first U23 World Championships since 2019 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Championships can be followed live on www.uww.org.
Northern Colorado opens its season on Sunday with the UNC Duals. The Bears will host Doane, Northwest Kansas Technical College, North Idaho and Big 12 foe Utah Valley. The first dual of the day starts at 11 am for UNC with the day set to end against Utah Valley at 4 pm.
