Baseball announces 2021 schedule

GREELEY, Colo. – In what seems like a lifetime ago, Northern Colorado Baseball's 2020 campaign came to a screeching halt due to COVID-19. Friday, the program released its 2021 schedule after 324 days without competition.
Head coach Carl Iwasaki has lined up a stern non-conference slate that will give the Bears a fierce test early and often throughout the season as well as provide a look ahead toward Summit League action in 2022.
The Bears begin the season on the road at Wichita State before returning home to Jackson Field for back-to-back series against future conference opponents South Dakota State and North Dakota State.
UNC rounds out its non-conference schedule later in the season with two games against Kansas State (April 13 &14) in Manhattan and a trip to Salt Lake City in early May against Utah.
"We are looking forward to a 2021 spring season which the players have been anticipating," said Iwasaki. "We have put together a strong non-conference schedule which will prepare us for the WAC season with teams from the Big 12, PAC-12, American and Summit League conferences"
WAC play has been adjusted to four games per series for the 2021 season, with the doubleheader coming on the Saturday contest.
The Bears will host Utah Valley, Seattle, Sacramento State and D-I newcomer Tarleton State at Jackson field this season.
All eyes look ahead to Mesa, Arizona, for the WAC Championship, slated for May 26-30.
