Wrestling Earns NWCA Top 30 Scholar All-American Team Honor

UNC men's wrestling holds the 26th best GPA of DI wrestling program's in the country
MANHEIM, Pa. – For the second consecutive season, Northern Colorado's wrestling program has earned the honor of being a National Wrestling Coaches Association Top 30 Scholar All-American Team. The Bears came in ranked 26th in the nation with a team GPA of 3.19.
UNC had the third-best team GPA in the Big Twelve.
Along with the announcement of the Scholar All-American Teams, the NWCA announced its Scholar All-Americans with three Bears landing on the list in Jacob Seely, Alan Clothier and Jace Koelzer.
Under the guidance of head coach Troy Nickerson, the program has produced 11 NWCA Scholar All-Americans in six seasons.
Earlier this year, eleven Bears were named to the Big 12's All-Academic Team, the most since the program joined the conference. Eight of the 11 honorees were first team selections.
On the mat, Northern Colorado qualified five for NCAA Championships before the season was cut short. Mosha Schwartz, Andrew Alirez and Dalton Robertson were named NWCA All-America honorable mentions earlier this month.
