Bengals Top Bears Sunday Afternoon

Northern Colorado fell for the second time against Idaho State this season
Northern Colorado women's basketball hosted National Girls and Women in Sports day but could not get the win against Idaho State. The Bears fell to the Bengals, 71-55 on Saturday afternoon.
UNC finished shooting 29.1 percent from the floor and allowed a 50.0 percent shooting day from ISU. Alexis Chapman led UNC with 12 points on 3-of-10 shooting.
The Bengals had five players score in double figures to push them past the Bears.
UNC struggled in the first quarter, shooting 14.3 percent and was held to seven points. ISU posted 14 points in the first to take the lead over the Bears. Ali Meyer scored four of UNC's points in the quarter.
In the second quarter, the Bears found more room to shoot, but managed only 13 points in the quarter. ISU scored 16 points on 33.3 percent shooting to extend their lead over UNC to 30-20 at halftime.
The offense picked up for the Bears out of the half, as they scored 20 points on 33.3 percent shooting. Chapman came alive for UNC in the quarter with seven points and
Kurstyn Harden scored six off the bench. The Bengals shot an impressive 64.3 percent from the floor in the third and outscored the Bears by five to build a 55-40 lead.
Now in the fourth quarter, UNC fought back in the quarter, scoring 15 points on 30.8 percent shooting. Chapman added five and Jasmine Gayles scored four in the quarter to keep the game interesting. The Bengals would edge the Bears by one point in the quarter to secure the 71-55 win.
UNC's record dropped to 7-9 in the Big Sky and 11-14 overall.

- Kurstyn Harden had a strong game off the bench, scoring 10 points, one shy of her career high. She added three rebounds and was a career-best, 6-for-6 on free throws.
- UNC had 14 offensive rebounds and scored 15 points off the second chance opportunities.
- The Bears bench outscored the Bengals 18-15.
- Alisha Davis recorded two blocks to give her 53 total this season.
