UNC men's golf shot a 298 in the final round
LIHUE, Hawaii – Northern Colorado men's golf turned in its best round of the John Burns Intercollegiate during Saturday's final round shooting a 298 on the day. The Bears finished the 54-hole tournament shooting an 899.
Jack Castiglia and TJ Shehee tied for the best round of the day for UNC each shooting a 2-over, 74. It was the second straight 74 for Castiglia who had a pair of birdies on his scorecard Saturday. Shehee had three birdies on the day and tied with Castiglia shooting a 228 for the tournament.
Coby Welch and Nick Sharp were a shot behind Castiglia and Shehee with a 3-over, 75. Each had three birdies during their round, Welch had the best individual finish for the Bears with a 222 for the tournament.
Prenzlow's Perspective
"It was another rough day for the Bears. We just are not putting very well and hitting crucial shots poorly. Some teams take a while to come out of winter and others, like last year, play well right out of the gate. We just need to get home and asses each player's game and make a plan to get better in the next two weeks before we compete again."
What's Ahead
Northern Colorado is off for two weeks before heading to Bandon Dunes in Oregon for the Bandon Dunes Invitational hosted by Gonzaga University. The 54-hole tournament takes place March 8-11.
