UNC Men’s Tennis Falls on the Road to DU Pioneers

DENVER, Colo. – The Bears men's tennis team faced in-state opponent Denver University Wednesday evening at the Denver Tennis Park, with the Pioneers taking the match 7-0 over UNC.
In doubles play, Julian Kenlers /Thomas Pudney fell 6-1 in the No. 1 spot, and John Geisberts/Adolfo Arroyo also fell 6-1 in the No. 2 spot to give DU the doubles point.
In singles play, Matt Summers took the first point for the Pioneers over Kyle Pease 6-3, 6-2 in the No. 1 spot. Adolfo Arroyo fell 6-2, 6-3 in the No. 2 spot.
John Geisberts forced three sets against Ignatius Castelino in the No. 4 spot, ultimately falling 6-4, 5-7, 1-0 (10-1).
UNC will take an 11 day break before their next match when they travel south of the state line into Albuquerque to take on the New Mexico Lobos on Sunday, February 9th.
