Men’s Tennis Drops Match Against Montana

MISSOULA, Mont.- The UNC men's tennis team was defeated, 5-2, on the road against Montana University at the Peak Racquet Club on Saturday. This moves the Bears to 4-7 on the season.
In doubles play, UNC started out strong winning two of the three matches. In the No. 1 spot, Julian Kenzlers/Thomas Pudney triumphed over Korkh/Hallgren with a score of 6-3.
At No. 2, Kyle Pease/John Giesberts also came out on top, 6-4, over their opponents Pudney/Isbell. Adolfo Arroyo/Nick Wade fell to Shaffrey/Hallgren 6-2 in the No. 3 spot to finish out the doubles matches.
In singles play, Kyle Pease was the only Bear to get the win in his match. He won in three sets over Max Korkh in the No. 1 spot (6-2, 6-7 (4-7), 6-4).
Montana claimed the victory in the remainder of the singles matches, including wins in straight sets over Thomas Pudney, Julian Kenzlers, Adolfo Arroyo and John Giesberts at Nos. 2, 3, 4 and 5. In the No. 6 spot, Alex Exsted took this match to three sets, though still coming up short to Milo Benn.
The Bears will have the opportunity to redeem themselves in Montana as they take on Montana State tomorrow in Bozeman at 10 a.m. before returning to Greeley for two consecutive home matches.
