Bears Place Names All Over Big Sky Performance List

Seven UNC track and field athletes moved into the top 10 of the Big Sky performance list
COLORADO SPRINGS – Northern Colorado track and field completed its weekend by posting seven Big Sky top 10 performances for the season. Eight runners ran in finals at the Air Force Invitational. This comes after Mackenzie Pettit broke the school's record in the pentathlon on the first day.
Semaye Johnson earned the highest spot on the Big Sky performance list with her time of 8.82 in the women's 60m hurdles semifinal to take over third place in the conference. She finished in sixth place for the meet with a time of 8.92 in the finals. Teammate Zion Smith taking seventh with a time of 9.35. Smith's time places her ninth on the Big Sky list.
In the 60 meter women's final Dawnielle Lewis finished third overall by crossing the line in 7.71. That moves her into fourth place on the Big Sky performance list.
Two other women's athletes made their way onto the Big Sky's top 10 performance list in Kelsi Schuetz and Kylie Chavez. Schuetz moved into sixth for the 400 meter with a finals time of 58.40 to finish in sixth place for the meet as well. Meanwhile, Chavez is now in seventh for the triple jump with a leap of 11.51m (37' 9 ¼"). She took fourth place in the event, one spot behind teammate Nene Phenix. Phenix took third place by recording an 11.55m (37' 10 ¾"). She is already ranked second in the Big Sky for the triple jump.
On the men's side, Greg Laday and Cameron Ross posted the top 10 times for the Big Sky in the 60 meter dash and 400 meter, respectively. Laday finished in second place for the meet with a run of 6.94. Ross competed in the 400 meter finals earning a seventh place finish with a time of 49.94. Ross's time puts him 10th in the Big Sky.
Dorian Nesby was the other Bear to compete in the finals, running in the women's 200 meters. She finished in sixth with a time of 25.66. Her time ranks 12th in the Big Sky.

UNC is off until the end of the month when they head to Columbia, South Carolina to compete in the Carolina Challenge over January 31 and February 1.
