GREELEY – Twenty second half points and a pair of interceptions led to Northern Colorado's first win of the 2019 season, 27-24 over Idaho.
Down 17-7 at the half Northern Colorado started the second half with a seven play, 34 yards drive that ended in a 45-yard field goal from Ben Raybon.
Idaho quickly responded to go up 24-10 with 10:32 left in the third, but UNC's defense pitched a shutout after that.
The Bears cut the lead down to 24-17 going into the fourth quarter as Jacob Knipp found Willie Fairman for a 36-yard strike.
Milo Hall tied the game with 7:10 left on a two-yard run to cap off a six play, 50 yard drive and bring all the momentum over to Northern Colorado.
Sophomore linebacker Jace Bobo intercepted Idaho quarterback Mason Petrino on the first Idaho offensive play following the Hall touchdown to set up Northern Colorado in Idaho territory.
Seven plays and 28 yards later Ben Raybon gave UNC its first lead of the game with a 32-yard field goal with 4:06 remaining. UNC's defense held strong the rest of the way to secure the win.
