Welch Picks Up Fifth Straight Top 10 Finish

Coby Welch earned his fifth straight top 10 finish helping UNC men's golf to end up in 10th place at the SIUE Derek Dolenc Invitational
MADISON, Ill. – For the fifth straight tournament dating back to the 2018-19 season senior Coby Welch earned a top 10 finish, ending in a tie for eighth at the SIUE Derek Dolenc Invitational. Welch shot an even-par 213 for the tournament, closing it out with a 2-over, 73 on Tuesday.
With Welch leading the way, Northern Colorado finished in 10th place for the tournament shooting a 34-over, 866 as a team. UNC moved up from 13th place entering the day to earn the top 10 finish by shooting a 295.
Jack Castiglia was the only other Bear to finish in the top 30, by finishing in a tie for 29th with a 6-over, 219.
Marcus Tait tied Welch for the best round of the day by a Northern Colorado golfer shooting a 2-over, 73.
What's Ahead
Northern Colorado returns home to host its one day, 36-hole individual tournament on September 30. The tournament will take place at Highland Hills Golf Course.
