Bears unable to earn series split vs. Falcons

A hit and error put two on with no out in the sixth for UNC. With two out, they remained on base Matt Burkart singled in both runs to get the Bears on the board. He advanced on a wild pitch, which enabled the other Matt, Zoba to bring him around for the third run of the inning. The Bears added a run on another wild pitch to cap the four-run inning.
The Falcons closed out the game by scoring five runs over the final two innings to pull away.
BREAKING OUT OF THE BOX SCORE
- Burkart finished with a hit and two RBIs.
- Zoba had a pair of knocks and an RBI.
- Jordan Medina was a late addition to the lineup and tallied his first hit as a Bear.
UNC starts a critical three-game weekend series in Phoenix against Grand Canyon on Friday night at 7. Â
