UNC unable to keep up with Lopes

PHOENIX, Ariz. – With just two series remaining in the season, UNC started its final road trip of the season and Grand Canyon played a rude host. A five run second broke the game open and the Lopes went on to win in eight innings, 11-1.
The Bears got on the board in the fourth when Sam Leach and Jake Gitter got on to lead off the inning. Matt Burkart cashed in the opportunity when he singled in Leach that made it 7-1.
GCU scored two runs in the third, fifth and eighth.
BREAKING OUT OF THE BOX SCORE
UNC and GCU will play the middle game of their weekend series on Saturday at 7 p.m.
