LAS CRUCES, N.M. – It was back to business as usual for WAC baseball on Sunday for UNC and New Mexico State with 17 combined runs scored in the first two and a half innings. The runs kept coming in the bottom of the third and the four runs scored by the Aggies allowed them to pull away and win Game 3 of the series, 19-9 in eight innings.

After falling behind 9-1 after the first, UNC was back in the game down 9-8 headed to the bottom of the third. NMSU answered the Bears comeback with four runs highlighted by a Joseph Ortiz RBI double.

Northern Colorado got back in the game when they scored four runs in the second and three more in the third.

After Matt Burkart and Matt Zoba had already scored Jack Pauley went deep with his second home run of the series and fifth in sixth games. UNC wasn't done, Jake Gitter tacked on an RBI single to pull UNC within 9-5.

The comeback continued with RBI singles by Tyler Yamaguchi, Lucas Allen and Zoba in the fourth.

BREAKING OUT OF THE BOX SCORE

Pauley had two hits including the long ball and drove in two.
Allen had a hit and two RBIs.
Sam Leach picked up three base knocks.

SCHEDULE SAYS
UNC is back to WAC play next week with a conference series that starts on Thursday against California State Bakersfield.
