The UNC Bears Men's Tennis team left no doubt in today's match against the Colorado Mesa Mavericks, not allowing a single point in the 7-0 win for the Bears.
Julian Kenzlers/Nick Wade earned the first win on the day for the Bears, taking the 6-0 win on the No. 2 court. The only win for CMU in the match came from the No. 1 court, where Kyle Pease/Tommy Smalley fell 6-2 to even things up in doubles.
Adolfo Arroyo/Michael Kritzinger sealed up the doubles point by earning a 6-1 win in the No. 3 spot.
Kyle Pease started the singles matches off with a bang, earning a quick win 6-1, 6-2 over Max Lindquist. Alex Exsted followed it up with a 6-4, 6-1 win in the No. 4 spot.
Adolfo Arroyo clinched the match for the Bears by earning the fourth team point in the No. 2 spot by taking the match 6-2, 6-1. Julian Kenzlers followed Arroyo, cashing in a win of his own 6-4, 6-3 on the No. 3 court.
Completing the sweep of the Mavericks was Nick Wade and Tommy Smalley. Wade won in three sets 6-3, 6-7, 10-6, while Smalley finished with a 6-3, 6-4 win.
The Bears look to carry their momentum into Sunday morning's match against the Portland State Vikings. A win for the Bears would make them all square in the win-loss column and give UNC it's best finish in the Big Sky Conference since 2016-17.
