Northern Colorado finished its time in Bozeman with two individual and one team medals
BOZEMAN, Mont. – Northern Colorado men's and women's track and field finished the Big Sky Indoor Championships on Saturday, with multiple Bears getting on the podium.
"We had good consistency today," head coach Amanda Schick said. "The great thing that came from the day is two men score in the 3K. It shows the growth in our men's distance program. Two of our guys also scored in the triple jump to get some great points for us in a tough field. Greg [Laday] and Syanna [Algee] stepping up in the track events in a competitive field is definitely encouraging. Cammy [Sargent] showed toughness in getting on the podium in the 800m Antoine [Coates} placing third was great after having the eighth best time in the prelims, but he was able to get on the podium. In the women's 4x400m, we had four girls never run before and it was good to see the confidence there. Kylie Chavez really stepped up for the team in the triple jump, after moving around in events. We missed some opportunities today, but we can refocus and look to is what is ahead of us in the outdoor season."
