EWU traveled to Sacramento State last week and fell behind early before making it a one-possession game in the second quarter. The Hornets used a pair of defensive touchdowns to defeat Eastern Washington 48-27.Â
The Bears are seeking their first win ever in Cheney.

About Eastern Washington
• Eastern Washington tried to mount a comeback against Sacramento State last weekend, but it ended up short as they lost 48-27.
• In the game against Sacramento State, the Eagles gave up seven sacks. The Hornets scored twice on defense off a pick-six and fumble recovery.Â
• Quarterback Eric Barriere is one of the most electrifying players in the nation. He has accounted for 1,966 yards of offense for the Eagles and 20 touchdowns. Last week at Sac State he ran for a 92-yard score.
• Eastern Washington's defense has been opportunistic this season leading the Big Sky in interceptions and turnovers forced. The seven interceptions rank seventh in the FCS and 12 overall turnovers places them 14th.
• The Eagles have some work to do to meet their expectations of being Big Sky champions like both the conference media and coaches predicted for them at the beginning of the year.Â
