Castiglia Enters Final Round in the Lead

Three Bears shoot under-par on Saturday, Jack Castiglia holds one stroke lead
HIGHLANDS RANCH – Three Bears shot under par on Saturday to help Northern Colorado move up the leaderboard at the Ron Moore Intercollegiate. Coby Welch, Jack Castiglia and TJ Shehee combined to go 8-under on Saturday as the Bears now sit in a tie for fifth place with Weber State.
Welch had the best round of the day for Northern Colorado shooting a 4-under 67. He had a bogey free day with four birdies. After making the turn at 1-under, Welch caught fire early on the back nine birdies on holes 11, 12 and 14. His round helped him move into a tie for sixth place at 3-under, 139.
Welch and the rest of the field are chasing Castiglia who sits in first place through two rounds. The sophomore shot a 3-under 68 on Saturday. He enters Sunday's final round at 6-under, 136 with a one stroke lead. He was one of two Bears with an eagle on the par 5 ninth hole on Saturday. He finished the day with four birdies alongside the eagle.
TJ Shehee was the other Bear to eagle the par 5 ninth. He shot the best round of his collegiate career on Saturday with a 1-under, 70. The freshman from Mead placed three birdies on his scorecard.
Northern Colorado shot a 2-under, 282 to move into a tie for fifth place entering tomorrow's final round.
