The Bears won their home opening matches of the season to improve to 2-1.

The Bears hosted Colorado State University-Pueblo and Colorado College in their first home matches on Sunday and swept both of them 7-0.
UNC began the day taking on CSU-Pueblo, earning the point in doubles with wins in No. 1 by Raffa Mora/Sandra Keta 6-4 and No. 3 Sarina Chhabra/Synclair Larson 6-2.
In singles, the Bears won all six matches. Anna Battersby took on Nia Matthews in No. 1 singles in what would be the closest match of the day. The first set challenged Battersby as she shook off some nerves, taking the first set 6-4. After settling in, Battersby handily won the second set 6-2.
Battersby shared her thoughts on the match following her win,
"I thought we all came out and played well…I think we all came forward with good sportsmanship among us all. I think we have all had a lot of fun today thus far."
The winning streak for the day continued in to the match with Colorado College, again winning the point in doubles and winning all six singles pairings.
Sarina Chhabra/Synclair Larson were impressive in their No. 3 doubles match, defeating their opponents 6-0.
Madeline Doherty grinded out a tough win in No. 2 singles, defeating her opponent Tess Rubin 6-3, 6-4.
Head Coach Chad Stoloff was pleased with his team's performance,
"We competed hard today and stayed focused and energized all the way through. Colorado St-Pueblo and Colorado College are tough teams and extremely well coached. They pushed us and we responded well today. Thank you to our fans for showing up and cheering on your Bears."
