@UNC_TrackField Wins Four Events, Campbell Sets Program Mark at Potts Invitational

Northern Colorado wins 400m, 800m, Triple Jump, and 4x400m relay
BOULDER - Northern Colorado Track and Field concluded the Potts Invitational on Saturday, winning four events and compiling a strong overall performance in the first competition of 2019.

Josh Campbell made history for UNC in the 3000m, finishing with a indoor program record 8:37.32 time to place third in the event. The previous record was held by Stephen Haas, who had a time of 8:43.29 in 2018. Jeremy Romero placed fourth with a run of 8:39.71 minutes and Hass would finish fifth with a time of 8:39.71.

The UNC men dominated the 400m run, with Kyle Thomas winning the event with a time of 47.95 seconds. Adam Stark placed second with a time of 48.12 seconds and Antoine Coates placed third with a time of 48.24 seconds.

Cammy Sargent picked up where she left of last season after appearing in the NCAA championships, winning the 800m with a run of 2:10.08 minuets.

The UNC women's 4 x 400m relay team would take the top spot with a time of 3:49.58 minuets, topping Colorado's team by nine seconds.

Jake Tagita won the triple jump for the Bears with a jump of 14.58m in his second attempt on the day. Maccee Reed would place fourth with a jump of 12.99m in his second attempt as well.

In the men's 60m, Greg Laday finished second with a time of 6.91 seconds and Demetrius Graves finished third with a 6.96 time. Jalen Lyon placed sixth with a time of 6.99 seconds. Lyon also placed seventh in the 200m with a run of 21.906 seconds.

Dorian Nesby placed second in the 200m for the women with a 25.25 run. Nesby was followed by Syanne Algee who finished third with a 25.43 second run and Kelsi Schuetz was fourth with a 25.47 run. Samara Lishchynsky was seventh with a time of 26.06 seconds.

Evan Keely earned a second place finish in the 800m with a run of 1:55.42 minutes. Cameron Ross also placed fifth in the event with a time of 1:56.59.

Ashley Register would follow up her long jump win on Friday with a second place finish in the triple jump, recording a 11.57m jump in her second attempt.

The UNC men would take third in the 4 x 400m relay with a time of 3:18.58 minuets.

Algee would place fourth in the 60m dash with a time of 7.8 seconds. Nesby finished fifth with a time of 7.86, Lishchynsky was sixth with a 7.87 run, and Semaye Johnson was seventh with a 8.11 seconds run.

Johnson would also place fifth in the 60m hurdles with a run of 8.97 seconds.

Mackenzie Howie placed sixth in the 400m for the women with a run of 59.04 seconds. Alicia Thompson would post a personal best in the one-mile run with a time of 5:10.87 to place sixth. in the pole vault, Brooke Walker would clear the 3.05m mark to tie for sixth.

In the women's 3000m, Mikaela Hansis placed seventh with a time of 11:12.53 minuets. Cami Kennedy would round out the podium with a run of 11:16.78 to finish eighth.
