Northern Colorado women's basketball takes its undefeated Big Sky record to Missoula Saturday
Concluding a three-game road trip, Northern Colorado women's basketball looks to stay undefeated on Saturday when they face Montana. The Bears, who are 3-0 in the Big Sky, are the lone team still undefeated in the conference. Tip-off between UNC and UM is set for 2 pm MST.
Opening Tip
• Northern Colorado sits alone atop the Big Sky standings with a 67-62 overtime win over Eastern Washington on Monday.

Northern Colorado grinded out a 67-62 win over Eastern Washington in overtime to improve to 4-0 in the Big Sky. Savannah Smith led the team with 25 points, while Krystal Leger-Walker (17) and Alexis Chapman (12) joining her in double-figures. The Bears held EWU to 34.5 percent shooting
Scouting the Griz
Montana comes into Saturday's game looking to snap a two-game losing streak after starting the conference season 3-0. Overall, the team is 8-6.
The Girz are led by the trio of McKenzie Johnston, Jace Henderson and Emma Stockholm. Johnston leads the team scoring 11.8 points a game while Henderson scores 10.9 and leads the team with 8.2 rebounds and Stockholm adds in 10.4 more a game.
UM's offense runs from the inside out as they shoot 42.7 percent from the field, but are only making 28.1 percent of their 3-pointers. A key for teams against the Griz is to clean the glass as they average 12.3 offensive rebounds a game.
On the defensive end, Montana is holding its opponents below 40.0 percent shooting at 39.8. They hold a +2.6 rebounding margin as well.
History against Montana
Northern Colorado and Montana have had many good battles over the year, with UM leading the series 17-10. The Bears, have had the advantage as of late winning four straight including the most recent in the Big Sky Tournament last year 78-69.

UNC joined the Big Sky in the 2006-07 season and has gone 128-99. Overall, the team is 140-137 against Big Sky schools.

Idaho State and Idaho moved to half a game behind UNC in the Big Sky standings both picking up road wins at Weber State and Montana State, respectively. Eastern Washington picked up a big win going to Montana and winning 68-62.

The Bears are hoping history is not an indicator in how Saturday's game is going to go as they are 2-9 when playing on January 12. UNC is 0-5 when on the road, but won the last time they played on the date in 2017 at home, also against Montana.
