GREELEY, Colo. – Northern Colorado men's basketball's Andre Spight left his mark on the court at Bank of Colorado Arena and now has the chance to leave his mark with the Denver Nuggets. Spight signed with the Nuggets on Friday to be a part of their Summer League team in 2018.
"I want to thank the Nuggets organization for this amazing opportunity and I will not take it for granted," Spight said after signing with Denver.
Spight set a plethora of UNC single-season records as a Bear including scoring 855 points, which broke the school and Big Sky single-season scoring record. As the Big Sky Newcomer of the Year and first-team All-Big Sky member, Spight averaged 22.5 points, 3.9 rebounds and 3.7 assists. He along with Jordan Davis were focal points of the 2017-18 team that won the College Insider Tournament Championship.
Head coach Jeff Linder expressed his pride in Spight reaching the professional level. "I'm really excited for Dre and thankful for the opportunity the Nuggets have given him. Dre is a special player who has a bright future ahead of him. It's another positive step in the right direction for our program who puts a huge emphasis on putting our players in the right position to develop and excel on and off the court."

The 2018 Summer League begins on July 6 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Competing on the team along with Spight will be the Nuggets' draft picks Michael Porter, Jr., Jarred Vanderbilt and Thomas Welsh. All of the Summer League games will be aired on NBA TV and the ESPN networks.
