Northern Colorado women's golf finished ninth at the Big Sky Championships
BOULDER CITY, Nev. – Northern Colorado women's golf finished its 2017-18 season by placing ninth at the Big Sky Championships that wrapped up Sunday. The Bears shot a 307 on Sunday and finished with a 927 for the 54-hole event. UNC finished ahead of North Dakota and Weber State who tied for 10th by 17 strokes and behind eighth-place Montana State by seven.
Freshman Nicole Polivchak finished her first year for the Bears on a high note with the best individual performance on the team finishing tied for 14th. She shot a four-over 76 in the final 18 of the season. Polivchak was three-over entering the turn but played well on the back nine including birdieing the final hole to finish with a 37 on the back half.
Four Bears finished the day with sub 80 rounds, the most of the tournament for UNC. Besides Polivchak, Morgan Sahm (78) Beah Cruz (77) and Marisa Hisaki (76) all shot below 80. For Sahm and Hisaki it was their best round of the weekend.
