UNC Women’s Golf Finishes Day One at “Mo” Morial Tournament

BRYAN, Texas - Northern Colorado women's golf opened play at the "Mo" Momorial Tournament with a solid and balanced team performance, highlighted by tight scoring throughout the lineup. After the first round, the Bears are tied for eighth on the team leader board heading into round two.
Leading the way for the Bears was Samantha Colombine, who carded a 1-over 73 in the opening round. Colombine put together a steady day with rounds of 36 and 37, positioning herself near the top of the individual leader board and setting the tone for Northern Colorado.
Timbre Shehee followed with a 5-over 77, turning in rounds of 40 and 37. Shehee bounced back on the back nine to provide an important counting score for the Bears.
Close behind was Olivia Salonek, who finished at 6-over 78. Salonek remained consistent across both nines, posting rounds of 38 and 40 to stay within striking distance heading into the next round.
Jaci Hartman added a 7-over 79, recording a 38 on the front nine before closing with a 41. Her steady play contributed to the team's overall depth in the opening round. Carolina Fallotico rounded out the lineup with a 14-over 86, shooting 44 on the front nine and improving to a 42 on the back nine to finish her day.
As a team, Northern Colorado showed consistency across its lineup, with four players finishing within six strokes of each other. The Bears will look to build on that strong start and continue climbing the leader board as the tournament progresses.
