@UNC_TrackField Opens Indoor Season at Mines Multi

McKenna McGrath places in the top 10 of the women's pentathlon
GOLDEN - The 2018-19 Indoor season began for Northern Colorado Track & Field as they competed at the Mines Alumni Classic and Multi on Thursday.
McKenna McGrath placed 10th in the women's pentathlon with 3380 points, 11 points from placing eighth. The St. David, Ariz. native's best performance came in the high jump where she placed in a three way tie for first overall after clearing the bar at 1.70m, a personal best. In the 60m hurdles, McGrath finished sixth overall with a time of 9.10 seconds for another personal best. McGrath had an 8.37 throw in the shot put, a 5.16 jump in the long jump, and finished with a time of 2:36.79 minutes in the 800m.
Hannah Schoofs started her career at UNC finishing 13th in the pentathlon with 3052 points. Schoofs finished tied for 10th in the high jump after clearing the 1.55m jump. The freshman from Kashar, Germany also was 13th in the shot put with a throw of 9.80m.
Anya Turner finished 15th in her first collegiate competition with 3036 points in the pentathlon. Turner had UNC's best performance in the shot put with a throw of 10.25m, good for seventh overall. The native from Exeter, Devon, England was tied for eighth in the high jump, clearing the bar at 1.58m.
Competing in her home town of Golden, Claire Harris was right behind Turner at 16th in the pentathlon with 2989 points. Harris lead the Bears in the 800m with a time of 2:35.52 minutes for 11th overall. The senior also was 12th in the 60m hurdles with a time of 9.42 seconds.
Skyla Miller was 20th with 2706 points in her first competition for the Bears. The freshman's had her top performance in the high jump, tying for 13th overall after clearing the 1.52m jump. Miller finished 15th in the 800m with a time of 2:38.96 minutes.
Allison Davis finished with 2460 points and 21st overall. The sophomore from Amarillo, TX had UNC's best performance in the long jump with a 5.33 jump that was 12th best overall and her new personal best. Davis also set personal bests in the 60m hurdles with a time of 9.51 seconds and shot put with a throw of 7.71m.
