@UNC_TrackField Jumps, Sprints Display Dominance at Fum Mcgraw Invite

FINAL RESULTS
FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Northern Colorado track and field got in the blocks for the second time in its young outdoor season. The sprints and jumps did exceptionally well, coming away with two first place finishes and a handful of second and third place marks.
Best Finishes:
Junior jumper, Julliette Cossey was business as usual. Cossey came away in the women's triple jump title and a second place mark in the long jump.
She hit the pit 11.83m (38-9.75) during her triple jump crusade, clinching first place and gives her the second-longest jump in the Big Sky.
Cossey was just shy of first place in the long jump as well, recording a mark of 5.68m (18-7.62), good for second place in the field of 17.
Sophomore jumper, Dakota Divich also put forth a strong showing the long jump, sealing third place after hitting the pit in 5.58m (18-3.70), which was a new personal best.
The other first place nod for the Bears came in the women's 4x400m relay. The squad of Shalise Fernander, Alyssa Bettendorf, Mackenzie Howie and Cammy Sargent passed the baton around in 3:48.27, taking first place by over three seconds. The time moves UNC into third in the conference in the event.
The women's sprinting events also yielded favorable results, especially in the 100m and 400m dash.
Senior, Moriah Zachary and junior, Alivia Ayres-Perry garnered second and fourth place finishes. Zachary broke the tape in 11.93 seconds placing second, while Ayres-Perry came across in 12.18 seconds, taking fourth, respectively.
Sophomore, Cammy Sargent put up a new personal record in the 400m dash, en route to a fourth place finish. Sargent went around the track in 56.05 seconds, outdoing her previous fastest time by nearly two seconds. The finish also clinched Sargent a spot in the UNC record book in the event. The time now sits as the sixth fastest in UNC history.
Northern Colorado raked in two more fourth place times in the 800m and 1,500m runs. Senior, Rikki Gonzales took fourth in the 800m with a time of 2:19.04, and sophomore, Alicia Thompson produced a time of 4:46.26, also coming in fourth in the 1,500m run.
On the men's side, the sprinting events were fruitful for the Bears as well.
Senior sprinter, Jordan Medina boasted a third place time in the 400m dash. Medina clocked in at 48.49 seconds, a season-best.
Sophomore sprinter, Isaiah Brown notched a new personal-best in the 100m dash. Brown earned fourth place in the event with a sub-11 second time of 10.87 seconds.
The second fourth place finish for the UNC men came in the 200m dash, senior, Alex Mead sprinted to a finish of 21.71 seconds.
In the distance events, sophomore, Tristan Irish reeled in a new PR in the 1,500m run. Irish's final time of 4:10.32, bested his previous personal record by over 10 seconds. Irish finished seventh place in the event.
