GREELEY, Colo. – UNC women's tennis is preparing to play Metro State on February 4th at 1pm. The match will take place at Work Out West in Greeley, and will be a chance for the Bears to pick up their second straight win. Last weekend, the Bears swept Colorado State-Pueblo 7-0 without dropping a set in singles or doubles play.
Women's Tennis (1-1, 0-0 Big Sky)
Last Season: The Bears beat Metro State in Greeley 7-0 on January 31, 2016.
UNC finished last season 4-7 in the Big Sky Conference, 8-12 overall.
Need to Know: Senior Courtney Schulte and sophomore Lily-Ana Kreutzer remain undefeated in singles play this spring with 2-0 records. Sophomore Remi Immler and senior Beth Coton have been kept intact as the Bears No. 1 doubles duo this spring after going 3-1 in the fall.
Good to Know: The Bears were picked to finish eighth in the Big Sky preseason poll that was released in January.
Scouting Metro State: This will be Metro State's first match of the spring. They last played in October in the Colorado Mesa Duals where they won 8-1 against Arizona Christian, lost 6-3 against Dixie State, and won 6-3 against Colorado Mesa. Last season, Metro State finished with an overall record of 7-17. They did win three matches against CSU-Pueblo however.
Worthless Stat: The Bears have not lost a single team point to Metro State in the more than five years since they began playing each other annually.
