GREELEY, Colo. - Northern Colorado football ushered in the 2017 class on Wednesday. The Bears added 33 players to the roster on National Signing Day, the largest class in the head coach, Earnest Collins Jr. era.
After 22 graduates from 2016, UNC bolstered its roster and then some, adding 21 defensive and 12 offensive signees.
They new signing class included 27 high school additions and six junior college transfers.
"Our coaching staff did a phenomenal job this year recruiting," Collins said. "They just didn't go out and get bodies, they got bodies that we needed, bodies that filled holes and I'm really excited about it. I'm just looking forward to the competition because any time you have this many guys coming in and you have the team that we have, the competition out on the field is going to be fierce and going to make this program better."
The Bears hit the recruiting trail hard in Colorado, inking 10 commits from the Centennial State.
The team also added some much needed depth at offensive line and defensive line, signing five o-linemen and eight d-linemen.
