UNC opened its fall tennis schedule at the Drake Invite
DES MONIS, Iowa – Northern Colorado women's tennis opened its fall season play this weekend at the Drake Invite.
Best Performance of the Tournament
The doubles pair of Remi Immler and Beth Coton continued where they left off from last season competing at a top level in the Flight A bracket. After dropping their opening their opening match they went on to win the consolation bracket. Immler and Coton would defeat teammates Marissa Baca and Rafa More in the finals 8-6.
Other Top Performances
The best performance in the singles tournament came from Rafa More, who went 1-1 in the Flight C bracket. She won her first match over Yuliya Sidenko of South Dakota 6-4, 6-0.
The duo of Baca and More made its way to the consolation final of the Flight A Doubles by defeating the pair of Tucker/Behling from Nebraska Omaha 8-0.
One final doubles pair that played well for the Bears was Anna Battersby and Courtney Schulte who made it to the finals of Flight B. They fell in the finals to the duo of Lee/Kasilingam from North Dakota.
What's Next?
The Bears will continue its fall season over the weekend of September 30, when they head to the Air Force Invite.
