@UNC_TrackField Has Record Setting Day at Colorado Invite

BOULDER, Colo. – It was another record breaking track meet on Saturday for Northern Colorado competing at the Colorado Invitational in Boulder. The women's 4x100 team of Brianna Pardner, Alivia Ayres-Perry, Samara Lishchynsky and Moriah Zachary are now the new UNC record holders in the event after breaking the tap in 45.55 seconds, eclipsing the previous program of 45.99 set in 2014.
The relay squad finished second in the event behind only Colorado.
The team also added another Big Sky qualifier in Alex Wesley. The sophomore recorded a new personal best and a spot in the Outdoor Championships in the 200m dash. Wesley cruised to a third place finish in a time of 21.58, which is good for the second fastest time in the conference.
Jordan Medina took sixth in the race as well, coming in at 21.83 seconds. Medina also notched a first place finish in the 400m dash, breaking the tape in 47.48 seconds which was a new personal best on the season and moved him to second place in the league standings behind his teammate Wesley.
In the men's 800m run, Evan Keely posted a Top 10 finish in a field of 27 competitors, coming in eighth place and first in his heat. Keely crossed the finish line in 1:55.20.
The men's 4x1 team was in fine form. The squad of Isaiah Brown, Wesley, Bryce Adams and Alex Mead clinched a first place finish of 41.37 seconds winning by just .01 of a second.
In the field events for the men, Rolyce Boston continued his excellence in the men's long jump. Boston cleared 6.93m (22-09.00) to finish second out of 18. He was just shy of his personal best of 7.00m on the season. He currently sits as one of four that have officially qualified for the Outdoor Championships in the event.
Jayson Dupree hit a mark of 13.60m (44-07.50) in the triple jump to earn sixth place overall. His jump moves him up to eight overall in the conference standings and is the best mark of any UNC competitor this year.
Pardner kept the track events rolling for the women earning a second place time in the 100m dash. Pardner sprinted to a 12.15 second finish, good for a new personal-best in the 2016 season and now sits as the sixth best time in program history.
In the women's 400m dash Zachary posted a sub-57 second finish, crossing the line in 56.70 and though it didn't hit the qualifying standard it still moves her into the Top 10 in the conference standings in the event.
In the distance events Alicia Thompson scored a Top 10 finish in the women's 1500m run. Thompson solidified ninth place with a time of 4:45.22. Not only was it a personal record, but is also the eighth fastest time the Northern Colorado record books.
Just days after competing in a multi-even in Pocatello, Idaho Alisha Allen was back in fine form winning the women's long jump handily. Allen hit the pit at 5.64m (18-6.00) besting 22 other athletes for the top spot.
Northern Colorado now turns its focus to the Oregon Relays next weekend, April 14-16 in Eugene, Oregon at the coveted Hayward Field.
