Scouting Bakersfield
CSU Bakersfield is coming off dropping a close game to UC Irvine Tuesday night 7-6. The Roadrunners have been playing well as of late though, taking their series against Sacramento State last weekend 2-1.

Coming into the season the WAC coaches picked the Roadrunners to finish fourth, after winning the WAC Tournament last year and advancing to the NCAA Tournament.
Series History vs the Roadrunners
This weekend's series will be only the fourth one between Northern Colorado and CSU Bakersfield. Over the first three series the Roadrunners have won nine of the 10 games between the two teams. Last year UNC earned its first ever win over CSUB on the Roadrunners home field. The teams have met only three times in Greeley, with Bakersfield sweeping that series.

• Playing five straight games can take a toll on any pitching staff, for UNC they were able to string together a staff in the final game at Kansas. The Bears used eight pitchers lasting no more than 1 2/3 of an inning, but did see positive results. The eight pitchers combined to allow just two runs and six hits in the game.
