Northern Colorado women’s tennis earned a 7-0 victory over Minnesota State-Moorehead Friday
GRAND FORKS, N.D. – In a warmup before its Big Sky Conference match tomorrow, Northern Colorado women's tennis swept past Minnesota State-Moorehead on Friday afternoon. The Bears would earn the sweep behind a solid performance behind all of its players on the day.
"We played well against a good Division II team, and this will give us the momentum we need to put up a good fight against North Dakota," head coach Brenda Gallegos. "We also had the chance to practice some things that will help us keep our technique clean in our match play so that when we enter conference play tomorrow we will be prepared."
UNC would start the match out winning the doubles point by sweeping all three matches, dropping just two sets combined. The No. 3 duo of Marissa Baca and Anna Battersby swept their match 8-0.
In the singles play, the Bears continued its dominance on the court, sweeping all six matches. Courtney Schulte had the most dominate match of the day, sweeping the No. 6 singles match.
The Bears will stay in Grand Forks and take on North Dakota tomorrow at 1:00 p.m.
