Bears Tennis Closes Out Three Match Weekend

UNC fell to the Wyoming Cowgirls on Sunday, 6-1
LARAMIE, Wyo. – UNC Women's Tennis closed out their weekend Sunday afternoon, taking a loss against the Wyoming Cowgirls, 6-1.
The Bears clenched the doubles point, winning the No. 1 and No. 2 matches, but narrowly falling in the No. 3 match. Courtney Schulte and Hilary Walters-West got the day started, winning their match against Tessa van Der Ploeg and Elisa Koonik 6-3 in the No. 2 match.
Nationally-ranked (#40) Beth Coton and Remi Immler got the second win for UNC with a 6-2 match over Magdalena Stencel and Nastya Tokareva in the No. 1 match. Junior Marissa Baca and freshman Anna Battersby just narrowly lost their match, 7-6, to close out the doubles portion of play.
Despite their two doubles wins, Northern Colorado was unable to pull out a win in any of the six singles matches.
The Bears are back in Greeley next weekend for a pair of matches, starting with Colorado College on Saturday (11:30am). UNC will also open up Big Sky play on Sunday Feb. 21 against Eastern Washington (10am).
