The Bears and the Gamecocks will play on Monday, Dec. 21 at 6:00 p.m. (MT).
GREELEY, Colo. – Northern Colorado (3-7) will make a quick trip to the south to end its non-conference schedule. The Bears match up against Jacksonville State (3-10) on Monday, Dec. 21 at 600 p.m. (MT), before playing SEC opponent Mississippi State on Wednesday, Dec. 23.

Scouting The Bears (Game Notes) (Big Sky Notes)
- UNC comes into Monday's game looking for its first road win of the season, as they sit 0-3 in games played away from Greeley.
- Northern Colorado is coming off a tough loss against Denver at home, 81-77. The Bears finished non-conference play at home with a 3-5 record.
- The Bears are will complete the back end of the home-and-home contract with JSU. It's just the second time in the program's history that the team will play the Gamecocks. UNC defeated Jacksonville St. last season at home, 69-60.
- With the addition of junior guard, Dallas Anglin, Northern Colorado now boasts three players averaging 14.0 ppg or game with Anglin (18.5 ppg), Anthony Johnson (16.9 ppg) and Jordan Wilson (14.6 ppg).
- UNC upped its three-point shooting percentage to 39.2% a game, ranking them 39th in the NCAA.
- Northern Colorado is just 1-1 all-time against the Ohio Valley Conference with its lone win coming against JSU last season, and it's only loss against Austin Peay at home earlier in the year.
Scouting The Gamecocks
- Jacksonville State comes into the Monday's contest with a five game losing streak after falling at Loyola Marymount 77-60. JSU has also lost their last four games at home.
- The Gamecocks have three scorers averaging in double figures in Malcolm Drumwright (15.2 ppg), Erik Durham (13.4 ppg) and Cam Biedscheid (10.0 ppg).
- Drumwright has led the team in scoring 6 out of their 13 games this season. His high on the season is 30 points, which he produced in the loss against Jacksonville.
- JSU doesn't stray too far away from its starting five, with the lowest starter averaging 23.1 minutes per game and the highest playing 33.5 each contest.
- Same as Northern Colorado, Jacksonville St. only has one win over a Division I opponent this season, coming against Chicago State, 68-65.
Shooters
- Throwing junior guard, Dallas Anglin into the mix has caused quite a problem for defenses as Anglin has put up 19 and 18 points in his first two games with the Bears. Add fellow junior guards, Anthony Johnson (16.9 ppg) and Jordan Wilson (14.6 ppg) into the mix and UNC has a plethora of offensive weapons.
- Johnson scored 27 points, which was a new career-high for the guard in the loss against Denver last Wednesday. it was his fourth 20-point game of the season, the most of any player on the team.
- Wilson has extended his streak of at least 10 points or more to 10 games now with his 11 points on Wednesday night. The streak is getting closer to former guard, Will Figures' Division I record of 17 games straight in double digits.
- Combined, the trio is averaging 50.0 points a game.
Closing Out Non-Conference Play
- The Bears have just two games left before they begin Big Sky games at home against Eastern Washington on Dec. 31. UNC will play at Jacksonville State and Mississippi State on Dec. 21 and 23rd.
- UNC is 1-0 all-time against JSU and has never played the SEC opponent.
- During the 2014-15 season, the Bears topped the Gamecocks in Greeley, 69-60, led by former forward, Tim Huskisson's 24 points.
- Northern Colorado will either end non-conference play 5-7, 4-8, or 3-9 before league play begins. In head coach B.J. Hill's tenure, his teams have finished 4-7 (2010-11), 3-8 (2011-12), 2-7 (2012-13), 6-3 (2013-14), and 5-6 (2014-15) in non-conference action.
- It will be the third time UNC has played the Ohio Valley Conference and just the fifth time they've matched up with an SEC school in program history.
NCAA Rankings
- Northern Colorado's streak of hot shooting has been moving them up the NCAA rankings. The Bears are now the 39th best three-point shooting team in the country, averaging 39.2% from beyond the arc.
- The team's free throw shooting has been solid all year long and have never fallen out of the Top 40. Currently, they rank 36th in the NCAA averaging 74.1% at the charity stripe.
- UNC's trips to the line have also garnered them a national ranking. With 172 made free throws on the season, the Bears rank 77th in the country out of 346 teams.
