Jenny (Roulier) Huth was named the 13th head coach in Northern Colorado women's basketball history on April 30, 2018. A Colorado native, she returned home to the Centennial State after serving as an assistant coach the past seven seasons, most recently at UCLA.
Huth's Bears finished with an overall record of 13-18 in 2019-20, and a conference mark of 8-12. Junior guard Alexis Chapman landed on the All-Big Sky third team, averaging 11.6 points, 2.9 rebounds and 2.2 assists per contest. Meanwhile, Freshman Alisha Davis turned heads in the Big Sky, shooting a conference-leading 53.0 percent from the floor. The Colorado native also combined for 13.6 points, 7.0 rebouds and 2.3 blocks per game. Davis earned a Big Sky honorable mention. Finishing with a cumulative GPA of 3.56, the Bears turned in one of the highest academic years in the Nation.
In her first season as the leader of the Northern Colorado women's basketball program she led the team to its third consecutive 20-plus win season finishing 21-11, 15-5 in the Big Sky. The Bears took second place in the Big Sky and qualified for their fourth trip to the WNIT where they fell to Wyoming in the first round. Three UNC players earned All-Big Sky honors in Savannah Smith (first team), Ali Meyer (third team) and Krystal Leger-Walker (honorable mention). Northern Colorado led the Big Sky in rebound margin in Huth's first season with a +3.4 mark and also ranked in the top 4 in both scoring offense (68.6 ppg) and defense (64.6 ppg).
Over the seven seasons before coming to UNC, Huth was at UCLA (2011-18), where she helped guide the Bruins to a 148-85 record including four NCAA Tournament appearances, three Sweet 16s and one Elite Eight. Her relentless work on the recruiting trails helped the program earn the top-ranked recruiting class in 2014.
Prior to UCLA Huth worked in private business and as a high school coach for two seasons following her marriage in 2010. She previously served as an assistant women's basketball coach at Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan from 2007-09, helping the Summit League team post 20-win seasons in both years and a school-record 26 wins in 2008-09.
She began her coaching career as a graduate assistant at Florida State University from 2005-07. Working with Sue Semrau and her staff, Huth guided FSU to three-straight 20-win seasons for the first time in school history and made the NCAA Tournament each year.
A standout player for Colorado from 1998-02, Huth was a three-time All-Big 12 Conference selection and helped guide the Buffaloes to the NCAA Tournament Elite Eight in her senior season. She finished her career among the all-time top 10 at CU in career scoring with 1,399 points, three-point shots with 203 and three-point shooting percentage at .407. She was a member of Team USA's gold medal winning women's basketball team in the World University Games in 2001.
Following her playing career at CU, she played professionally for Club Estudiantes, a First-Division team based in Madrid, Spain and for the Colorado Chill of the National Women's Basketball League in 2004. She has also been involved with Athletes in Action and was a member of the 2003 fall tour.
A Colorado native, Huth hails from Englewood, Colorado where she was a standout at Cherry Creek High School.
She is joined in Greeley by her husband Tracy, son Tanner and daughter Ellie.
