2024-25 / FRESHMAN:

Season: During Heeg’s first season as a Bear, he went 16-12, recorded two tech falls, and three major decisions. Heeg was ranked as high as No. 24 on FloWrestling rankings at 184.

University of Pennsylvania (11/16): In the final seconds of the match, Heeg took the win over Nathan Taylor. Cougar Clash (12/07): Heeg went 4-1 and took home third place while competing at the Cougar Clash. UNC Quad Duals (12/21): Heeg went undefeated at the UNC Quad Duals, taking home a tech fall win (21-6) and a major decision win (9-1). Southern Scuffle (01/04-05): During Heeg’s first ever Southern Scuffle, Heeg defeated the No.1 seed in the Quarterfinals… Heeg took home second place. Wyoming (01/10): Heeg won by decision over Riley Davis, 7-4.

2023-24 / BEFORE UNC

Season: Compiled an 11-2 record at 174 pounds in three open tournaments as a redshirt … Secured a technical fall in all five matches to win the Lindenwood Open … Began the year with a runner-up finish at the Broncho Open and placed sixth at the Bob Smith Open … Earned bonus points in 10 of his 11 victories.

HIGH SCHOOL / PERSONAL:

Wrestled for Edmond Memorial High School before transferring to Stillwater for his final year … Compiled an impressive record of 130-14 throughout his time at the two schools … Was a two-time Oklahoma state champion, winning a 6A title as a sophomore and junior … Junior national finalist at Fargo in the summer of 2022 … Finished fourth at the Walsh Ironman tournament as a senior … At the time of his signing, Heeg was the seventh-ranked 182-pounder by FloWrestling and the No. 32 overall recruit on its Big Board.

In his free time, Heeg enjoys fishing and hanging out with his friends… Heeg’s wrestling goals are to All-American and become a National Champion… Heeg decided to transfer to UNC because he had a strong connection with the coaches.
