Jadyn McCartney, who played for the Bears from 2017-2020, joined the coaching staff as the director of volleyball operations, head coach Lyndsey Oates announced July 2, 2024.
Â
"Jadyn exudes the qualities you look for in the operations role," Oates said. "She is organized, empathetic, motherly and takes the initiative. Her last few years of elementary teaching have developed those qualities even more. She is a fantastic addition to our staff."
Â
McCartney, a native of Chadron, Nebraska, rejoined the Bears after spending the last three years as a first-grade teacher in Pierce, Colorado.
Â
Her operations experience includes setting up and running the operations for multiple volleyball clinics and camps. McCartney dedicated her time at the Evans, Colorado, recreation center volleyball clinic, the Greeley Recreation Center senior volleyball clinic, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes youth camp, the Rocky Mountain Region volleyball tournament and the Family FunPlex Spikers Club.
Â
McCartney tallied 578 kills over 84 matches in her playing career. She registered 358 digs, blocked 70 attacks by the opponents and recorded 28 service aces during her time in Greeley. She coached at the club level for five years.
