After serving off and on for more than seven years within the Northern Colorado Department of Athletics, Julie Hill was promoted to Hill has been promoted to the Assistant AD for Special Events & Community Relations.
In her new role, she will continue to be the sport supervisor for soccer and men’s and women’s tennis, oversee the Director of Administration position and plan and execute signature fundraising events for the department.
She will also manage the Blue & Gold Board of Directors, assist with creating new revenue streams and increasing current revenue streams and work with senior staff to develop community relations plan to increase coaches, staff and student-athletes involvement with key community project/initiatives.
Hill was appointed the University's Director of the Blue & Gold Club in December 2012. After heading the club, she was then promoted to Director of Administration in 2014.
In November, 2013, Hill temporarily added the duties of Director of Sponsorship to her workload. In this role, Hill works closely with all corporate sponsors of the athletics department.
Hill graduated from Colorado State University in 1995 with a bachelor's degree in Exercise and Sports Science. She then earned a master's degree in sports administration from Northern Colorado in 1999 while serving as a graduate assistant in the Bears' athletics compliance office.
Over the next five years Hill served as the Bears' Senior Woman Administrator (SWA) and Assistant Athletic Director of Compliance and later Assistant Athletic Director for Development before pursuing opportunities outside the department until 2010.
She then returned to Northern Colorado on a part-time basis in January 2011, serving as Director of Special Events for Athletics until her promotion in late 2012.
As the Director of Special Events, Hill was responsible for organizing and administering annual student-athlete scholarship fundraising events, including the Bears' Blue & Gold Golf Tournament, their Fall Kickoff, the Blue & Gold Reverse Raffle and Auction, Athletics Hall of Fame ceremony and the Northern Colorado Women's Walk.
She also recruited, coordinated and fostered volunteer participation for special event committees and solicited and secured sponsorship support for athletics special events.
Hill and her husband, Brett, live in the northern Colorado area with their daughter, Paige and son, Wyatt.
