UNC Announces Blackout For Home Opener

GREELEY, Colo. – Northern Colorado will open the season on Friday August 28 against Weber State at 7 p.m. going under the new Nottingham Field lights for the first time and will hold a Blackout for the fans attending the game.
Fans are encouraged to wear black to the game in the first Blackout at Nottingham Field. Beginning today fans can purchase these UNC Blackout T-Shirts at the Bookstore and online.
This season will be the first with lights at Nottingham Field and UNC wants to celebrate by packing out the stadium for the first game of the season as well as the conference opener.
This will be the earliest game in UNC history with the previous being on August 29, 2019, a 35-18 loss at San Jose State. The Bears in their history are undefeated at home in August going 3-0 with the last win coming in last seasons 17-3 win over Chadron State.
The game against Weber State will be the 14th matchup all-time, with the Wildcats holding a 11-2 advantage. But the last time the two teams faced off UNC won 21-17 on the road in 2024.
