Northern Colorado Wraps Up Action at Doug Max Invitational

FORT COLLINS, Colo. — Northern Colorado track and field turned in a series of standout performances Saturday at the Doug Max Invitational, highlighted by event wins, podium finishes, and multiple top-five efforts across the track and field slate.
On the men's side, Tyler Rogers led the way with a victory in the long jump, soaring to a mark of 7.47 meters (24-6.25). Rogers also added a strong showing on the track, placing sixth in the 200 meters (21.69).
In the sprints, Northern Colorado placed multiple athletes among the top finishers in the 100 meters, led by Daniel Beckford, who finished fifth overall in 10.65. Teammates Johnny Fisher (10.76), Jaydon Sundbye (10.81), and Max Streufert (10.92) added depth with top-15 finishes.
Fisher continued his strong day in the 200 meters, finishing fifth overall in 21.60, while Rogers (sixth, 21.69) and Kyran Jones (seventh, 21.89) gave UNC three athletes in the top eight.
In the 400 meters, Raphael Egbuchilem turned in a top-five finish, clocking 46.80 to place fifth.
The Bears also saw success in the hurdles, where Beckord placed third in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.04, leading a group of four UNC athletes in the event's top eight.
In the field events, Northern Colorado added more podium finishes as Kaliff Guevara placed second in the triple jump (14.70m), while Rogers' long jump victory anchored the group's top performances.
On the women's side, Northern Colorado was equally impressive, led by Caydence Brewer, who captured the 200-meter title in 24.60. Brewer also placed fourth in the 100 meters (12.11), leading a strong sprint group.
She was joined in the 100 by teammates Alexia Austin (5th, 12.13), Marely Del Campo (7th, 12.42), and Alison Hoodak (10th, 12.58), as UNC placed four athletes in the top 10.
In the hurdles, Austin delivered another standout performance, finishing second in the 100-meter hurdles (13.57), while Sherika Thomas added a third-place finish (14.02).
Middle-distance events saw Monique Stewart (2:06.07) and Regina Mpigachai (2:07.53) place second and third in the 800 meters, with Mpigachai adding another podium finish in the 1500 meters, placing third in 4:23.57.
In the field, Kiana Van Haaren claimed victory in the long jump with a mark of 6.02 meters (19-9), while April Necaise added a runner-up finish in the high jump (1.71m).
The Bears also saw success in relays, as the women's 4x100 relay team placed second overall with a time of 46.96.
Northern Colorado will look to build on the strong showing as the outdoor season continues.
