UNC Baseball Falls to ORU In Regular Season Finale, Prepares For Summit League Tournament

GREELEY, Colo. – Northern Colorado closed out the regular season with a loss to Oral Roberts on Saturday afternoon at Jackson Field.
Oral Roberts set the tone early at the plate, stringing together timely hits in the opening innings to build momentum.
The Bears found a spark in the fifth inning, as Zeke Minic singled and Brett Barber followed with a double to set up Brandon Sanchez, who drove in a pair with a double to left center.
Northern Colorado continued to battle throughout the game, taking advantage of an error and aggressive base running in the later innings. Ethan Mooser came around to score, while Mason Griffin added an RBI single to bring home Sam Pease.
Sanchez led the Bears offensively with two RBI's, while Barber contributed a double and a run scored. Griffin also added an RBI, and Jake Bullard turned in a multi-hit performance. As a team, Northern Colorado totaled seven hits and worked five walks.
On the mound, Jake Storey got the start, with Lucas Stone providing multiple innings in relief. Logan Borboa delivered a strong outing and recorded five strikeouts against the Golden Eagles.
ON DECK: Northern Colorado now shifts its focus to the Summit League Tournament as postseason play begins next week.
