Gonzales Named UNC Athlete of the Month for March

GREELEY, Colo. – After a dominant month at the plate, Ella Gonzales of the Northern Colorado softball team has been named Sexy Sammies Athlete of the Month for March.
Gonzales powered the Bears' offense throughout the month, leading the team with a .491 batting average while starting all 16 games. She recorded 27 hits in 55 at-bats, including 10 doubles and a triple, while driving in 15 runs and scoring 11 times. Her .764 slugging percentage and .508 on-base percentage highlighted her ability to consistently produce and create scoring opportunities for Northern Colorado.
A constant presence in the middle of the lineup, Gonzales led the team in hits and total bases (42), delivering multiple extra-base hits and timely performances that helped fuel the Bears' offense throughout March. Her consistency and impact at the plate made her one of the most dangerous hitters in the Big Sky during the month.
Gonzales and the Bears continue conference play this spring as Northern Colorado looks to build momentum in Big Sky competition.
